Privacy Policy

ScrubKit is a privacy tool, so this is short and it is the whole truth.

Effective July 31, 2026 ยท applies to ScrubKit for Mac

ScrubKit collects nothing.

There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no servers of ours for your content to reach. Every photo, video and audio file you open is processed entirely on your own device and never leaves it. This isn't a setting you switch on โ€” there is simply nowhere for your data to go.

What ScrubKit does with your files

When you open a photo or video, ScrubKit analyzes it on your Mac to find faces, license plates, on-screen text and other personal information, and then redacts what you choose. Speech in a video's audio track is transcribed on-device to find spoken personal information. All of this uses Apple's on-device frameworks (Vision, Core ML, AVFoundation, and Speech with on-device recognition required). The results are written to a new file that you save wherever you choose.

Data we collect

None. To be specific:

Permissions ScrubKit asks for

You can decline either permission and still use the rest of the app.

The only time ScrubKit uses the network

ScrubKit works fully offline. The single exception is optional: if you choose to enable an advanced AI feature (such as Face Swap) that needs a larger model, ScrubKit downloads that model file from public hosting. This transfers the model to your device only โ€” none of your photos, videos, audio, or any other content is ever sent. If you never enable those features, ScrubKit makes no network requests at all.

Metadata

ScrubKit is designed to remove data, not gather it. Cleaned exports have location, date, and camera metadata stripped by default, and never carry any identifier added by ScrubKit.

Children

ScrubKit does not collect data from anyone, including children, and contains no ads or in-app purchases.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Because ScrubKit collects nothing, we do not anticipate changes that would affect your privacy.
